Winter Wonderland Chicago Wedding

February 6th, 2021 – A true winter wonderland wedding! Morning Temp: 14F! Freezing day, little bit of a cloudy day and everything was covered in snow. I arrived at the studio to start packing up the van with all the hardgoods. My team was already going at it and we started packing up all the florals. We had to husle because flowers don’t do very well with huge temperature swings. Finally, all packed and ready to go. I grabbed my warm tea, took few sips and said ot my team “Lets do this! and lets have some fun today”!

That day will always remain in my memory as a super cold but super amazing day! Jackie was one of my best brides to work with. She was so sweet and so excited to see all the work come together. She didn’t mind giving me design freedom to make her wedding beautiful. She had this amazing vision of a very cold wintery day with snow everywhere and stunning florals with tons of greens. I was very excited to design this wedding as most of winter wonderland weddings are all about white!

The wedding was taking place at Mission Hills Country Club in Northbrook and the place was stunning. A beautiful room with a masonry wall and another wall full of windows overlooking golf course. Use your imagination to see a full golf course covered in white powdered snow. It was absolutely stunning to look at. The cocktail hour room had a beautiful wooden fireplace and it was just spilling warmth all over the place.

We focused on providing wedding flowers for the ceremony that included pew decorations in simple white and green palette. These wedding flowers were repurposed as wedding centerpiece rentals for the family dinner.

The original reception was rescheduled to 2021 due to Coronavirus Pandemic, so we are super excited to be designing for Michelle & Danny again next year. 🙂

Chianti & Navy Chicago Wedding

I love a bride who wants to have a stunning florals full of color. I was sooooo excited when I met Michelle. She came in for our consultation with a huge smile on her face, picked up her phone and showed me a bouquet from my prior bride and said “I want that”. I was thrilled. I felt proud of our work and I was ecstatic that our work was an inspiration for someone who was planning their wedding.

Michelle’s color pallet was beautiful. Her bridesmaids wore Chanti color dresses and boys were dressed in delicate Navy blue. Her vision was to have the pop of variety of colors come thru in the florals. This event took place in early October so we pulled the inspiration of colors from my favorite season of all – Fall!

The bouquets were composed of stunning roses, spray roses, ranunculus and variety of filler florals and greens. We mixed variety of florals to achieve the textured look that was interesting to look at.

The wedding day was a beautiful fall afternoon with warm air and sunshine throughout the day. The ceremony took place at a beautiful St. Joseph the Worker Church in Wheeling, IL. with a small dinner party for family onto at one of my favorite venues, Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, IL.

Lehmann Mansion Wedding

Lehmann Mansion Wedding

When Lauren called me and we started working together on planning this event, I was very excited because Lehmann Mansion is an amazing venue. Located in Lake Villa, IL on beautiful grounds surrounded by lush greenery, stunning fountain and a quite oasis away from busy city life. The color scheme that Lauren picked was perfect for the surroundings. Blush and deep pinks played off nicely against the beautiful lush greenery garlands she chose. The whole event was very romantic, elegant, and sophisticated even though it was 95 degrees on September 1st, which doesn’t happen often in Chicago.

For this event, our floral choices included stunning variety of blush and deep pink roses, peach Juliet garden roses and touches of filler greenery flowers. We designed the flowers to Lauren’s specifications to pop against blush pink bridesmaid dresses.

The ceremony decor was very minimal not to take away from the beautiful grounds. We used tons of rose petals down the aisle with two white column rentals and low centerpieces to accent the altar area. Simple but very elegant.

The centerpieces included lush greenery garlands mixed with cylinder pillar candles throughout, low floral centerpieces with a mixture of variety of flowers and greenery, and reused bridesmaid bouquets in gold cylinder vases. The entire room was stunning in the evening candle light.
